In today's world, we must always prepare for the unexpected. No one can predict where a disaster will strike, but they do happen. It is crucial that you become self sufficient by becoming "Emergency Prepared" We cannot rely solely on emergency personnel, since many people may need their help. You need to protect yourself and you family now. Buy or create your own emergency kit now and store them in your home, car, office and/or school. Remember following a major disaster, stores will be closed, utilities will be shut off, roads my be to dangerous for travel. It's time to plan now, when it's calm.

• If a emergency occurs in your community, local government and disaster-relief organizations will try to help you, but you need to be ready as well. Local responders may not be able to reach you immediately, or they may need to focus their efforts elsewhere.
• You should know how to respond to severe weather or any disaster that could occur in your area - hurricanes, earthquakes, extreme cold, flooding, tornados, fire, chemical spills, tsunamis, service disruptions, such as power failures during the winter or terrorism.
• You should also be ready to take care of yourself and take care of your family for at least three days (72Hrs). This may mean providing for your own shelter, first aid, food, water, and sanitation.
• Your family might not be together when an emergency occurs, plan on what you would do in different situations.
